Dear [Name]:
I am a parent of a ___ grade student at [name of school], and I am writing to get detailed information about the materials that will be taught in my child’s classroom, particularly in the area of [subject matter].
As you know, the United States Supreme Court in Mahmoud v. Because this request is pursuant to and necessary to effectuate a well-established constitutional right, there should be no fee for this request. This information is not being sought for commercial purposes. As to form, inspection of hard copies, electronic versions, or access to a Google Drive where the materials are placed are acceptable methods of delivery.
If you deny any or all of this request, please cite each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information and notify me of the appeal procedures available to me under the law.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
